Timeless classic
This book contains 40 models from Vouge knitting magazines for last 35 years. Most of the models are unique for shapes and patterns. I've already knitted a few of them. You may like this book if you want to knit something that will not be like from mass-market but something outstanding.

Amazingly different
Knitted the pattern on the front of the book, it is knitted in hexagons which I decided to knit each one individually and then sew together, I knitted the medium size one and as I am size 12 it turned out the loose fitting it promised in the book though much bigger than the size it said as 39 inches but this may have been correct as it did not say if this was the finished size. I did the tension square as recommended and went down 3 sizes of knitting pin. In total I used 530gms of Rowan Hemp Tweed which is a double knitting wool, but you may need more depending on your tension and is just to give an idea of the amount of yarn needed in an alternative yarn. This is a fabulous top and having knitted it once I could easily knit it again and look forward to doing just that. well worth the money for the book as it has many great patterns in it. Arrived very quickly. I have now knitted a second bolero using Cygnet pure wool double knitting wool and size 8/4mm needles and this one turned out the correct size and used 10x50gm balls and I am now starting on my third one using Hayfield pure wool dk. I love this pattern so much I may knit one in every colour I can find.

Accurate Reflection
One of my favourite knitwear designers, this book is a wonderful reflection of Norah Gaughan's interest from her initial designs for 'Vogue' knitting magazine to the present day in cables, shape and interesting structures. There are designs for women and men's garments, and where the original yarns are no longer available, alternatives have been given. The creative impetus behind each garment gives a fascinating insight into the designer's intention, and reprinting the articles from 'Vogue' which accompanied some of the designs gives further information into this amazing designer's inspiration. The instructions are clear, as are the design charts (all designs are worked from charts), and the photographs' clarity show the design details precisely. Gaughan's designs have not dated, with the one which appeared in 1987 as stylish now as it was then. This is not a book for beginners, but unlike many knitting books which have perhaps one or two designs which "take the eye" there are many here to keep knitters who want stylish, eye-catching garments happy (as indeed I will be!) for many projects to come.

Beautiful sweaters
Got this for my daughter. The sweaters in this book go over several years and as such some of them are out of style without a bit of reworking (think 80's drop shoulders and big enough for 2 to fit inside- oh the memories lol). The instructions are clear and the patterns are beautiful. If you have a little experience in altering patterns even the older styles can done. Definitely not for a new or inexperienced knitter overall you need to be experience in knitting cables or using multiple colors.
