A classic sound seems to be good quality

I was uncertain what batter head to get for my Mapex Piccolo snare drum 13 X 3.5 inches. The delivered head was marked as a Remo Head, but the type as not specified. I called Remo directly, they said the stock head is a Remo "Knockoff" but it is a Remo Ambassador single ply coated (a Litle hazy coating). I installed in easily and it tuned easily too. I like Piccolo Snare Snap, which it delivers. I rated it 5 Stars but really don't know about longevity / durability yet. But it feesl solid and well made. Highly recommended.

I like the fact this head is great for subtle snare playing. Very crisp for fast rolls on the drum. The opposite feel to a double rock head which is not capable of playing jazz or snare work other than beating. It is also great to play because it does not have the center pad like many heads have that reduce the sensitivity. This head has been around forever and has proven itself through the years.

Thankfully I fixed the head on my own, but the seller could have shipped this in a bigger box to prevent shipping damage like this. Otherwise, great batter head for my floor tom.
