Not reliable, started failing after a couple of months
I bought this about six months ago, and was reasonably pleased with it for a while: this is the kind of box that you buy, connect and then forget about it. And so I did... until it started failing: first one of the positions of the 2/5 channel configuration stopped working so I had to switch to another position. Then after a while the device stopped sending audio out, and I had to reboot it at increasing frequency. Finally, I'm going to replace it because it pisses me off.

Does the job it was meant to do
The original order failed to arrive so I contacted the seller who apologised and said a replacement would be sent. Three days later it did. The unit is small but quite weighty for its size. Setting up was a doddle, connections clearly marked, with LED indication too.I'm pleased with the product and the way the seller responded so 5 stars all round

HDMI AUDIO EXTRACTOR
I bought this so I could connect my new LG UHD4K TV to my stereo system. BUT ... the HDMI ARC output from the TV won't talk to the eSynic - even though the eSynic claims to support HDMI ARC. I am therefore returning the item to Amazon for a refund. I does work, however, when connected directly to my HD set top box via HDMI cable.
