Easy to Use and Relatively Quick
Having been fed up with a 2TB pencil drive not being compatible with Windows 10 (don't you just love how Microsoft tries to control your life?!!!) or not working properly with the Mac, I decided to get another Western Digital 4TB drive. They continue to be the world leader in drives. Although this is an internal drive, I didn't want to pay the more expensive price for an external drive, plus my Mac is old (2008) and the connection is USBA, so the latest external drives would likely not connect. I therefore use this drive in a docking station and it works fine. - I play music live from this during my radio shows, loading to the playout app.For me the SSDs of this capacity and greater need to come down considerably in price before I will switch over to them. I therefore use great HDDs like this and they work fine.

Failed after 10 minutes
I have bought a few Western Digital drives over the years, and never had any problems with any of them. This time I purchased 3 of the Western Digital Blue 6TB drives. Two are working fine, just as you would expect, but the other failed within 10 minutes of installation! I guess its just the luck of the draw!In general all my other WD drives have lasted for years, in fact I have a Western Digital My Book Live 3TB NAS that is still running after 9 years (24x7).The failed drive has been returned and refund issued without any questions, so I'll be ordering a replacement.

Very good. No problems.
I now have more than 10 of these 6tb drives. Western Digital have never let me down. I used to buy 1tb until the price point of the 3tb and 6tb came down.

It's a recertified drive.
When I was fitting it, I noticed "Recertified" and a couple of Chinese/Japanese characters etched/stamped onto the side. Not glaringly obvious. I wonder whether this might explain the relatively large number of failures being reported. Drive seems to be working, but I'll have to see how long that remains the case. Don't know what the warranty period is on recertified drives. I feel the seller should state it's a recertified drive.

Bad packaging
The drive arrived with a single layer of bubble wrap in a paper postage bag with not box or shock protection.I am going to return it despite it looking OK since HDDs are sensitive items and should be better protected when posted.

Great storage for my Drobo
These drives provide excellent storage capacity in my Drobo NAS and are very quiet for use in the open office space (older retired drives were very noisy).Drobo reported that 2 of the 3 drives I purchased were "bad" when trying to add them to an operational array, but doing an 'initialize' on the array (which wiped it) got them working - then restored from backup.

Great value if a little noisy
If you value quiet go for the slower models Althea are way easier to deal with but if you are like me and only use these for storage or big games they only spin up now and then anyway :)
