Innovative Marine DIY SafeScreen Mesh Screen Kit (48" x 24")

A bit tricky putting together but works great once fitted.

The media could not be loaded. Okay, after all said and done it’s a really good frame and should last forever.I nearly gave myself sores on my fingers trying to snap that spline in place. I discovered that the spline is actually designed to slide into place, but that won’t help at all for installing a screen.For assembly I found the following to be helpful (see video and pics for details)Important: I purchased a 48x24 version. I started assembly on the 24 inch side. It may be helpful for you to do something similar.1. Line up the knots of the screen inside the railing too keep it from interfering with plastic spline.2. Use at least 2 of the Quick Grip Clamps3. Use 1 of the clamps to align the spline on the railing making sure the lip of the spline is inserted first then clamp it down. You’ll hear an audible SNAP when it seats correctly.4. Use additional clamp/s to feed spline into rail keeping the knots in the center of the rail too.I can tell you each time I heard that audible SNAP I celebrated. It felt so good

This is a terrible design, very hard to install. The spline doesn’t allow to adjust the screen tension and the result looks awful. Pass on this by all means,

Fits my husbands tank perfectly. Does take two people to assemble.

The plastic splines that hold the mesh in break easily when snapping into place. The ones I did manage to get in without breaking cut the mesh screen. Some did both. In the end it's still functional, but of very poor quality for the cost.
