I bought these primarily due to being on a strict budget and a gym noob.As you can see from the photos, both sides tore in the same places. This can probably be attributed to gripping equipment too hard and occasionally washing them with warm water instead of cold, as instructed.While I purchased white, after washing with either a washcloth or cooling towel, they turned silver and eventually permanently teal. Another mistake instead of hand washing them alone.I came back to Amazon to look for a different type of glove when I happened to go back to this listing only to discover there was a warranty (I never paid attention to the packaging) so I contacted Contraband - mind you, days after Hurricane Irma (shipped from Miami) - and they sent a new pair.I'd say my communication with Mr. Christopher French placed the company on a very short list of companies I'd consider staying loyal to. He was empathetic, non-condescending and spoke like he used the product. His responses weren't merely copy and pasted; they're the kind of communication that shows you what it's like when companies really care about their customers.I believe the description stating them as basic gloves is quite accurate and I am kind of surprised they do have a 1-year warranty for its price. While I may look for full-finger gloves, I would recommend these for beginners as long as you're not trying to grip things like Hercules.

Really glad that I came across Contraband products. I've search for workout gloves for a while now, tried a few different kinds over the years - some good, some not so good. When I lost my last pair, I was on the search again. I bought the Contraband Black Label gloves. Received it in couple of days and tried it on. Good quality as far as I could tell, but unfortunately it was too big for me. I measured my hands, and it was about 9 inches around. Ordered an XL. When I would close my fist, I would have all this extra material that would scrunch up in my palm that made me not so comfortable with my grip.I was so disappointed, wondering if I had to just deal with it since I ordered the wrong size and nothing wrong with the gloves themselves. But that's when I did something I don't normally do - read the email from the company. FREE SHIPPING FREE RETURNS. Bingo!Long story short, I ordered after this a L in the grey, didn't really like the grey, ordered another L in black. Too big. Ordered M in Black, and it was perfect. I was talking with Christopher from Contraband the whole time - very quick to respond. I even screwed up the return method, but he was very friendly and talked me through it. In the end, the best thing about Contraband is their customer service.In the end, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. GREAT PRODUCT. I would size down so that it's snug. Order with confidence! I'm no power-lifter, but these gloves have really helped me feel more comfortable benching and deadlifting more. Even on some of the machines with raw metal grips, these have helped me not tear up my hands or get staph in less-clean gyms. The leather palms are really durable and the fabric on top is light.They're not fancy, but they work and haven't fallen apart.Smelled kind of weird when I first got them but I rinsed them in cold water and they are fine now.

I think these are a really good buy although dye does leak from them, at least I noticed it with my wife's gloves but not with mine for some reason. I only notice on the alcohol wipes at the fitness club my wife and I go to when she handle the wipes to clean the machines after we use them. I don't see it when I use it, not sure why but other than that I haven't noticed any leaking when I sweat nor has my wife mentioned anything to me about it.These are made really well and for the price you can't go wrong with them. I actually purchased 2 more pairs. One pair for my wife and another pair to rotate days with.

Super comfortable and I left pretty heavy. So far they feel like a solid, well made set of gloves. I love the elastic back and leather-stitch palm. It's good padding, I don't feel like I will get calluses but I don't feel restricted. I'm 5'8, 165lb and ordered a Medium. They fit perfectly!

Fits as well as any glove I normally buy, and doesn't seem to have any fatal flaws, so I expect it will hold up at least a year or so with a few hours of use per week maximum. I can't imagine you finding this review helpful. I can certainly say there's nothing annoying about them - I do tend to forget that they are either on or off my hands unless I think about it.

I only have 2 complaints and they could easily be explained by the fact that I'm not a very big guy. The first issue is that the leather padding is very thick which is good for normal lifting but when doing pull ups/chin ups I find myself having difficulty keeping my grip because I don't have much surface area of my fingers left to help grip the bar. I tend to take the gloves off now which defeats the purpose of the gloves. My second complaint is the seam where the padding meets the stretchy mesh right on the inside of the thumb which is where most of the pressure from gripping is. I find it uncomfortable and in some cases a little painful. If the seam were just a little bit more on the top side of the thumb I think it would be much better. Overall though great product and i'm pretty pleased so far.New entry: below is a pic of a tear that happened unfortunately after only about 10 uses.

I buy these every 6 months. With last purchase, the velcro (felt side) is a different material from prior 8 pairs or so, making the sticktoitiveness die prematurely(1st photo). Usually a hole develops in the palm requiring gloves replacement while the velcro is still very strong (2nd photo). GO BACK TO OLD MATERIAL PLEASE. I use to love these gloves, especially for the price.
