Q: What size are the rivets?

Rivet is roughly 2.5 inches before they are installed. They will need a 3/16" drilled hole to be inserted into your boat.

Q: How can I remove the rivets so I can reinstall the eye hook?

Use a small drill bit and drill through the hole in the top of the rivet. Wobble the drill a little and the head will break off. Push the underside down into the kayak. Add the new pad eye and then replace the rivets. Make sure to use waterproof silicone in the holes before you put the rivets in. Hope this helps.
