I really like the Lean Machines youtube channel and was excited to see that they were coming out with a book. It's easy to read, shows you how to do exercises, and is a good way to get started if you don't know where to start. If you already have a basic working knowledge, the book is still fun to read and look at. The thing I like most about these guys is their sense of humor and sense of fun--- it will keep you motivated. I like that they have been friends for years and used to work together not in the fitness industry, and it comes across as very encouraging. So if you are a regular gym goer but have hit a plateau and need a boost, this book does it. The recipes are easy and nothing super fancy, but if you are trying to stick to macros, it's really nice to have them laid out for you and not have to figure it out on your own for everything you cook. Plus, I always like seeing nice pictures when I do my meal planning which macro meal apps don't have. It's a great, fun book and nice to have around, especially if you are learning about macros and need help making sure you know how to hit yours (it even includes the math!).

Been a big fan of the Lean Machines for the past few years and had been anticipating their book for quite a while. I'm happy to say that it is easily the most informative, yet easy to understand, health and wellness book I've ever come across.The book itself is broken down into three categories : Be Happy, Eat Well and Move Better. Although it offers helpful photos and directions for workouts (focused mainly on compound movements) and some great tasting meals, what I found most refreshing was the intro and BE HAPPY section. These sections encourage readers to understand their motivations and obstacles for getting healthier, but with the positive and motivating style the Lean Machines are known for. For me, this simple inventory has really helped me sustain my motivation over the past few months of using their book.In case you're wondering, I have seen more gains following these workouts and nutrition than I had seen with years of (what I now know as) ineffective gym time.One caveat: they use the metric system for recipes and weight sizes so if you're in the states you may need to keep a conversion chart handy.

These guys are AWESOME
I never write reviews about books, but I felt like I just had to for this book. John Chapman and Leon Bustin are highly knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and real when it comes to an overall healthy lifestyle. They aren't worried about just the physical aspect of the fitness world, but your happiness, which I think is awesome. I've been following these guys since they started on YouTube and they just keep getting better and better. If you want to be healthy and MAINTAIN that then please buy this book and see why everyone loves these guys and their message. Thanks for creating this awesome book The Lean Machines!!

I love these guys
Man, I love these guys! Don't remember how I discovered their youtube channel, but so glad I did - they are the real deal. Such genuinely great guys out to help people in their wellness path, it's tangible that they're having a good go along the way too. Their infectious verve for living is an inspiration. Great food recommendations presented with gorgeous photography, happy these guys are in the book format now too. :)

You should give it a try
I gave his to my sister for Christmas and she loved it. There very helpful tips to start working out that are easy and very effective. There are also some delicious but healthy diners and lunch recipes that are really fun and great to make. Really recommend buying this for yourself or to give as a gift.

Great motivational book but needs more exercise instruction
I am enjoying this book but I feel the workout pages could have had more detailed exercise descriptions, I had to Google some of them named as there are only photo examples af a select few of them, if these photos had been smaller more pictures/descriptions could have been included.

Love the positive mindset mental training included!
Loving the book! You're voices come through as authentic and genuine and I loved the approachable mindfullness content. So happy you included that and didnt just make a typical fitness book. Enjoy the success - you've earned it!

Great, but seems male focused?
Really love the recipes. The exercise part seems a bit more geared towards men. I love their whole attitude though. It really is a good all rounder.

Worthwhile
The Feel Awesome and Move Better sections were fantastic. I've been watching these guys on YouTube for a while and they talk a lot of sense. I liked the workout plans in the back - could have done with a few more of them :-)The cooking section was ok - I feel it is good for someone who doesn't regularly cook and is trying to start cooking at home for the first time. If you already cook a lot, they seem quite basic - but they are still tasty - I made the Sweet Potato Shepherds Pie and it was great!

What a wonderful book!
What a wonderful book! Their approach is a breath of fresh air, touching on invaluable aspects of health that the rest of the fitness industry forgot! A read I am sure I will come back to many many times!
