Q: What kind of fabric is this?

I have no idea. Easy to work with, standard stuff you’d find at hobby lobby, thread is really soft. Like the expensive kind at hobby lobby lol!

Q: When finished with the pattern, what's the best way to wash out the blue ink from the fabric?

I run cold water in the sink and lay the finished piece in the water. I leave it in the water for several minutes until I can see that the blue ink is gone. When I remove it from the water, I smooth it out on a flat surface to dry.
