Easy to install unless your truck is old and your tail gate is rusted at the bolts. Have your own socket/driver kit and maybe a breaker. Otherwise it works.

Installs nicely. Does its job. It has started to squeal when the ram extends. My kids can open the tailgate with out me having to fear it landing on them. This is important for efficient camping beer retrieval.

My 05 Dodge Ram tailgate is very heavy and I was quite surprised at how easy it opens up. It installed in 15 minutes and works great.
