500 Chocolate Delights: The Only Chocolate Compendium You'll Ever Need

I love this thing. It's a highly specialized piece of kitchen literature which I've added to my hoard. Every hoarders dream. It looks very cool next to my dead cat and old newspaper collection.

I like the recipes in it and the different variations for them. All recipes are made from scratch and this is something I look for in a recipe book, easy to follow instructions and the best of all it has a lot of pictures. It's a good selection for someone who likes chocolate.

I thought I was ordering a different book, but ended up liking this anyway.

Can't wait to slowly start getting every edition

The 500 Chocolate Delights provides 125 recipes for a variety of cookies, cakes and other chocolaty things from everyday use to special occasions. Each of the 125 recipes has four minor variations that tweak the item into a different version by adding a new flavor profile. Overall it is an average cookbook but for those who are skilled in baking like my wife it provides base recipes that can then be used to make their own variations while using this as a widespread springboard and because the recipes are chosen for easy variations they lend themselves to creating your own as well. We have only found a few recipes to be a little vague on the directions but overall have not had too many problems with this book. Overall well recommended for those that are looking for a lot of cookie recipes that can be built on.As a note for those who are frequent buyers of the 500 series this one does repeat several things from the cookies, cupcakes and cakes books so not as much new comes out of it but still some good ideas.

Any chocolate lover has to smile at the thought of a whole cookbook devoted to it...and I did. This little book packs a lot with 500 recipes, each including chocolate in the list of ingredients. As with the other books in this series, there are about 100 base recipes and each includes four to five variations to total 500. There are recipes for every occasion, season, and level of ability making it a nice addition to any cook's collection.The chapters include everyday cakes and desserts, cookies, muffins and cupcakes, bars, celebration cakes; pastries, tarts, and cheesecakes; mousses and ice creams, petit fours and candies, and drinks, frostings, and sauces. As with other "500" cookbooks, there are lots of color photographs that I always find to be a source of inspiration to try the recipes.Some traditional desserts can be found such as chocolate chip cookies, brownies, chocolate cake, basic chocolate sauce, and pudding, but there are so many different recipes as well including chocolate orange cheesecake muffins, triple chocolate terrine, praline truffle, chocolate puddle cookes, and sticky apple and chocolate cake, to name just a few. The only recipe I've tried so far and with good results was the white chocolate chunk cookes which will become a favorite. Other recipes I have bookmarked to make besides those already mentioned are ginger and chocolate chip cookes, energy bars (might be a good breakfast treat), cheesecake brownies, and strawberry and chocolate marshmallow bars.Anyone who loves chocolate will enjoy this cookbook. I am surprised to see positive reviews of this book. I finally made something from the book tonight and will be getting rid of it tomorrow. I followed the recipe exactly: it was waaaaay too much batter for the pan I was told to use. Then the recipe for marshmallow fluff was "add egg whites and all ingredients to the beater and mix". You always have to get the egg whites going first. I knew it wouldn't work... and surprise surprise... it didn't work. I looked at other recipes online and even the ingredient list was off.Yes, it's a pretty book. But the recipes are fake.

I think that this is a super great product, and so I would gladly buy it agian in the future
