TRAC SEATS MADE IN THE USA Seat Suspension Kit for Gravely ZT HD Ariens Ikon XD Apex Zero Turn Mowers

Like most other people mention the instructions are vague at best, thankfully there are a couple better videos on Youtube. Overall it was worth the effort of installing the suspension kit, wish I would have done this long ago.

I just bought a new ZT/HD 52 in April 2024, and wanted more suspension in the seat, but wasn't interested in the $400 or $600 options available from Gravely. For reference, my mower came with an adjustable seat that was mounted on rubber isolaters.So I bought this kit from Trac Seats for $244.98, which is still a lot of money, but the company and product have a good reputation and it was better that other options I looked at. I watched the video, both on the Amazon listing and the company's website, but their instructions didn't look anything like the mounting plate on my mower. I measured and played with it, and got everything to line up and bolt on finally. The factory plate that rides on the rubber isolators has to stay, just get rid of the stock slide adjustor stuff mounted to it. Then you use that red plate that came on your mower, mounted by the rubber isolators, to mount the Trac Seat system. The only down side is it makes the seat higher than before, but I'm almost 6ft and didn't care about that. For reference, my seat height is now at about 17 1/4". You might want to measure yours and see if that's going to work for you.An unexpected benefit to this trac seat kit, was the seat slider being much better than the stock one. The stock slider mechanism on my mower was difficult to operate and had limited adjustability. The new one is quick and easy and I think it has more adjustment to it. The instructions show the seat adjustor handle going on the right side as you sit in the seat, which is right next to the brake. Looking at it though, I think I could take the seat back off and flip the sliders upside down and put the slider handle on the left side instead where there is plenty of room. Maybe some rainy day I'll try that. In the mean time, I don't adjust my seat much anyway. Set it and forget it, so it's likely not worth the effort. But if you are installing yours for the first time now, might be something to consider.The quality of the components seem top notch, but the instructions suck. Watch a couple videos, go look at your mower, and I think you'll be able to figure it out. Compared to the price of suspension options from the mower company, this kit is a good value. I just wish they would actually test fit their product when the mowers change to make sure it still fits. I sent an email to Trac Seat, maybe they'll fix that in the future.In the mean time, get out there and trick out that yard ride, and go mow some stuff.

Just purchased a gravely 42” ZTX (not HD version)….. ridiculously expensive for what you get these days.I love the mower but like most zero turns the ride is trash…especially on bumpier ground at the higher speeds. I have a bad back, and this was NOT gonna work.Regarding this accessory, This suspension was ridiculously expensive for what it is, but is high quality and had 100% of the hardware and brackets needed to adapt the mower. I actually saw these units were standard on some of the 7K mowers - multiple brands. After watching videos I expected to need washers or other shims….this comes with all the hardware, sliding rails, adapter bracket, and wiring extension…nothing else needed. A video online shows how to connect it all as its not 100% obvious….like others noted the instructions are not so clear. You wont use the old slider bar on the mower - a new one comes with the rails.Anyway, this Rides LIKE a DREAM now….almost criminal they dont offer this as standard or even an option from my dealer on the residential units.BUY IT NOW, you wont regret it. Also, its made in USA, dont settle for some cheap knockoff.

It was a little bit difficult to install but it did make the mowing a little less bumpy.

Product is good. Documentation is bad. The written instructions don’t match the installation video. One tells you to install the adapter bars first, the other says to install the adjustable sliders first. The documentation says that you need a 1/4-inch hex wrench, but the hex bolt is actually 3/16th.The product seems good, but the installation would have been smoother with better installation instructions. Both written and video.

Funny this is advertised for Gravel ZT HD. Well it also fits right onto a 2023 ZTX. It might not fit the older model 2022 and earlier models, but is fits perfect on a 2023 ZTX. Took about an hour to install. That said I am pretty good at figuring things out and the installation instructions and video at tracseat.com were sufficient for a simple install. I did not need to make any modifications to the machine or the Trac seat. I did not need any extra hardware, so no trips to the hardware store.In my opinion Trac seat should update the Gravely models that this works with, because it clearly has no issues mounting to a 2023 or newer ZTX.I set the spring tension so that I am basically floating on a cloud, I am very happy with this purchase.Near as I can tell this is a very heavy duty upgrade to my Zeroturn.I hope this helps in making the decision as to whether to get one.Also I am 240lbs

It made a big improvement in the comfort of mowing my 4 acres. Instillation instructions and photos are poor so the YouTube video was a big help in figuring out what goes where. Even with the video it took over 4 hours to finish the job, and I consider myself as being pretty good at repairing and putting things together. It would be helpful if there was a parts list with each item numbered and a photos of where it goes. The unit appears to be well made and tolerances are tight. Now that installation is complete I am well pleased with this purchase. If I had to do it again I would gladly pay someone a $100.00 to do the installation. Buy one , get your Zen on and start the installation!

With a large amount of acreage being grass around my home I found this seat to to a saving grace for my spine and back. $500 less in cost than an air seat and it delivers very good support and comfort over a wide range of land surfaces that I mow around my yard. I highly recommend this product.
