Lovely colours, convenient way to use gouache
HIMI gouache is not artist quality. I find it to be slightly stickier than my artist quality gouache and some colours are less opaque than others (which is also somewhat true of all gouache). What I like about HIMI gouache is the convenience of having all these pre-mixed colours in one small package, ready to play with which allows me to just concentrate on painting. The smaller cups allow for more colours in a smaller footprint which is good for those like me, with a small painting space. I've really enjoyed using these and when they are gone I will buy the 48 set.

Great set of paints
Although the jelly gouache is a bit of a fad I do like these paints they are lovely colours and can be really opaque when used with little water. A great beginner set

Paint mixes when not being used
I'm pretty disappointed with this product. Feels more of a high end juvenile paint set. The paints have mixed with each other while not in use through movement of the box and the paint is streaky when applied.

Strong colours, great selection, small pots, well known brand, comes with a palette
This is a really great company for gouache paints, I already have larger kit of paints from them and I love them. This set comes in a really sturdy box which clips on at all four sides for extra security, because once you peel off those lids of those paint pots, the only way to re-seal them is to use the big purple lid of the box, so it needs to be secure. I love that it comes with such a great spectrum of colours for the size of the box, it gives you a really great introduction into gouache paints and into HIMI itself. Since the selection is so great, it's worth noting that this makes the pots of paint quite small, so I wouldn't recommend this set for large paintings, but it's perfect for anything you'd like to do in your sketchbook or even just smaller paintings. It also comes with a colour swatch to show you what each colour looks like when painted, and, bonus, it comes with a paint palette! The palette fits snugly inside the box on top of your paints and it closes without trouble. You could even say that by keeping it in the box, it helps to secure your paints when travelling. And lastly, this box comes with a long section inside and the bottom where you could store several paintbrushes if you wish! I cannot recommend this kit and this company enough, I really like them and I've enjoyed using these paints!

Love Himi Gouache
I love Himi Gouache, it's great for kids but also for artists and beginners with gouache. I use it in my sketchbooks when I'm planning paintings I'll be doing with more artist quality gouache. Artist quality is not cheap, so having something like this Himi gouache is awesome. You get a lot of paint for the money.I now have 3 sets, the 56, 24 and now this 36 set. I love what Himi have done with this 36 set, they have split their usual pots in two, and you get more colours in a smaller box. That's so much easier to keep on a table, or even to take away on trips. You can see in my photo's the difference in size between the Green box of 24, and the new pink box of 36.The paint cups can be a little messy when you open them, they are a bit like a McDonalds dipping sauce type of pot. So be prepared to have a good wash once you've opened them all! The box is pretty sturdy, and comes with a white plastic pallet. In general, the box is airtight, which means it does keep the gouache liquid for a long time, but it's a good idea to spray the paint with water either when you open the set to paint, or just before you close it. That should keep the paints wet. If you don't use them for a while, and they do dry up, fear not they can be re-constituted, just add water and stir until they come back to life. There are video's on YouTube showing you how to get them back to perfect condition.I've added a few of my sketches to show you how vibrant the colours are, and how nicely they go down on the paper.
