Spalding The Beast® Portable Basketball Hoop

The quality it top notch. It took me and my husband 6 hours to put together. Instructions were a struggle, but we read it multiple times. Biggest recommendation is make sure you have all the parts lined up. The bolts all look a like. Very much worth the investment.

Getting the top pole and the bottom pole joined is quite the task and I'm not sure it is even possible. Using a team of 4 people we were finally able to get the two poles together. We followed the instructions on how to align the two poles, but the female end started to split as we got closer to correct alignment. I had to spend a couple hours dealing with customer service to get 2 new poles shipped. The new poles arrived and were for the wrong size goal. Had to deal with customer service for another couple hours. Customer service was very aggressive and unwilling to ship the correctly sized poles unless I jumped through a bunch of hoops. In the end, it was easier to return than it was to assemble. Lesson learned. I cannot recommend this product or Spalding.

Had some trepidation with some of the reviews indicating missing parts, get the assembly, etc. Tried to order the assembly, but not available in my location. Took me about 4 hours and only needed a set of extra hands to place the backboard on the frame. Instructions were good. Had to really figure a few things out, but if you are moderately handy with tools you'll figure it out. Great product. Very sturdy. I filled with water and the gel to prevent freeze. Was solid. Added 2 50 lb bags of play sand for good measure. Works great 👍.

I am a handy person and this is the absolute worst set of assembly instructions and difficult assembly I have ever undertaken. Not a single part is labeled correctly. All bags have labels but don't correspond to anything.To put the long metal poles together you must fit one end into the other (each pole is 6 feet long heavy metal). The instructions say to "put a piece of wood down and drop it down and the top part will slide in".12 feet of 6 inch square metal tubing balanced while you awkwardly try to lift it up and drop down. It took 70 or 80 drops (not exaggerating) while it moved 1/8 of an inch or less each time.Great product once finished, but this is one that would be worth paying for assembly.

Very sturdy and professional goal , not 100% easy to build but with the right hands on deck and tools it can be done, look on you.tube for best video instructions. My kids play on it daily and so far it’s survived =D

The base unit with backboard appeared to be from a very old stock, there was watermark all over the instruction Manuel and backboard box. I had a very hard time putting together the base unit as the wheels somehow does not fit well and it is off ground. Given the price of this unit I expected a better product, very disappointed.

This is the best portable basketball hoop hands down. The directions were well written and easy to understand. I recommend this hoop to anyone looking for a professional style hoop. I installed this myself in about 6 hours taking my time doing it. I bought the black pads and net on Amazon, those items are not included with the hoop.

I purchased this product on June 15th. It was delayed and delayed and delayed. We got it on July 20th. The assemble was supposed to take place on 8/4 and it was supposed to be a two person job. As you probably can guess 1 guy shows up. He takes everything out of the boxes and then tells us he can't assemble it because it a two person job. You can't make this type of idiocy up. Fast forward a couple of hours and a storm rolls through throwing all the material around that this guy had taken out. After calling amazon customer service to try and get some resolution I have been hung up 3 times and counting. This service could not be worse. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST
