Fusion makes for a gentler yoga mixed with some tai chi
Having previously done some yoga via P90X3, I enjoyed many parts of it, but some of the stances were hard on my joints, so this fusion of yoga and tai chi was a great combination for a more gentle exercise that still works on your flexibility.

Easy Yoga
I have been doing different types of yoga for years, this is short, easy and still effective. I feel like I am taking a yoga class in the bamboo forest. When you have one of those days that you do not have much energy, yet need to get a workout it, this fits the bill. There are more challenging programs out there, but i enjoy this program. and sure it works.

Adds variety to a very good series
I am new to Tai Chi and have enjoyed all of the videos in the series. By necessity some of the movements are repetitive but each video adds at least one different sequence so eventually you are familiar with almost all of the simplified 24.I felt the yoga added to this video but perhaps a different venue or a few more yoga positions would have made it more enjoyable.David Dorian Ross is obviously a polished video performer. His partner never smiled and perhaps should have been coached a little on stage presence

Enjoy the Flow of Tai Chi & Yoga
David Dorian Ross blends his long-time experience in Hatha Yoga with Tai Chi Fusion. This DVD is set in Hawaii, similar to his DVD “Tai Chi Fit in Paradise”. But this time it is set purposefully in a Bamboo forest to make a point: the stiffest trees are the ones most easily cracked, while the bamboo survives by bending in the wind. This video allows the viewer to perform easy to follow movements, from Yoga, Tai Chi and Health Qigong, in a flowy fashion, similar to how bamboo is able to flow through life. However, unless you are a long time practitioner of all three you might not know which exercise belongs to which discipline. So that limits using this DVD as a learning tool for either yoga or tai chi. That is the main reason I gave it a 4 star. There is a warmup and then two “Bamboo Work Outs”, which are easy to do, especially if you are not concerned about proper posture or style. I do enjoy his musing on why and how one who studies Yoga might want to study Tai Chi (in the traditional sense) and vice versa, and how the two disciplines complement one another, making a practitioner more functional, balanced, and healthier overall.David Dorian Ross is all about “the fun” of both, and that comes through in this flowy DVD. If you are wanting a taste of both tai chi and yoga, without the formal instructional of both, you will enjoy this DVD.

Another "Tai Chi" labeled video presenting an easy exercise workout using Yoga as an additional buyer attraction.
Instead of being repetitive I suggest those interested read my review on Tai Chi in Paradise. Most of those comments apply to this DVD as well. Mr. Ross has produced a large number of "Tai Chi" DVD's. Some of those earlier vdieos easily earn 5 star ratings, while others lesser ratings because of content and presentation and an attempt to provide a review from an experience martial artist to try to help newcomers to Tai Chi to be exposed to the real art of Tai Chi as a long term excellent relaxing workout, a first rate health program, and for some a rewarding martial art. Here the background is a "Bamboo Forest" which I find distracting. Some will find this DVD analogous to a movie that may have a good sequel, then tries to push each additional sequels to the limit with a noticeable reduction in story, presentation, and overall quality. This DVD would be highly recommended but to a limited audience and not to those who want to learn the art of Tai Chi as has been traditionally taught and practiced. For those attracted to Tai Chi as a beginner I would highly recommend other excellent Tai Chi videos presented by the same publisher, YMAA. Combining Yoga in this DVD, I think just confuses newcomers who may initially be attracted by names such as "Tai Chi" and "Yoga". Most people who become involved in exercise programs and martial arts may certainly use the flexibility exercises of Yoga and there are certainly better presentations of Yoga as a separate art. As with Tai Chi classes many excellent Yoga classes can be found in most communities as well as excellent videos for a home based practice session.

This is an excellent DVD to learn more about your qi energy
I know a little yoga and less tai chi. I thought it was interesting as to how David-Dorian Ross combined these two practices to complement each other. I am working on the principle of surrender to help stretch and reach both my mind and body. This is an excellent DVD to learn more about your qi energy.

A good way to get moving
This DVD is useful, but I did not find it as inspiring as many of the other Dorrien Ross DVDs.
