The James Herriot Collection: All Creatures Great and Small, All Things Bright and Beautiful, and All Things Wise and Wonderful Audio CD – Unabridged, October 31, 2006

Without a doubt, this show was one of the most superior shows on PBS. I never missed an episode, read all the books and went into mourning when the show went off the air. Now I can go back to Yorkshire and tag along with James Herriot on his vet calls and reminisce right along with him. Christopher Timothy is the perfect choice to narrate and read these books and it's like old home week when you hear him speak and listen to the stories. This is a fantastic set for a great price. If you missed the series on television, you cannot miss these CD's. If you've never read the books, buy this set and be transported back to England and a simpler time. You will love them all as much as I do.

Years ago, after reading the books, I never missed an episode of the NPR sponsered TV program on Channel 6 in Sacramento, CA. In the early '90's, my son (USAF) and family were sent to England and my husband and I had the wonderful opportunity to visit there and actually toured the Yorkshire dales and countryside. We were able to visit the real home of this wonderful veterinarian and the one used in the making of the television series.Listening to the audio version of the books has brought back vivid memories so real it sometimes brings tears of happiness to my eyes.This is one of my all time favorites and Christopher Timothy is ABSOLUTELY one of the best readers of all times. I have not yet started watching the DVD's but I know I will feel the same. Truly I cannot say enough good things about this collection.

Perfect! These stories are wonderfully written and read...... perfect for a long cross country trip. James Herriot's storytelling ability is unparalleled. He can paint a vivid word picture, that enables the listeners to be there in the moment. Christopher Timothy IS Dr. Herriot! No one else could have put a voice to these stories with the same result; bringing me back to the first time I saw the TV series. His ability to "do" all the various voices in the story is incredible. This series is great for the whole family, providing the earthiness of the scenes such as calf-birthing, are explained to children ahead of time.

Purchased this collection for a long drive through New England recently because we have enjoyed the CD's from the series and thought perhaps we would enjoy this as well on our drive. The collection did not disappoint especially since it is narrated by Christopher Timothy and has the same feel of the TV series. We found ourselves chuckling along as we have with the tv series and would highly recommend if you are a Herriott fan. There are about 16 hours on each book and have almost made it through the first book of three.

This product is an excellent audio CD recording of a wonderful set of books. The audio was clear. The CD's worked well in my CD player. The narrator did a wonderful job bringing the stories to life. As far as the books, they are full of fun short stories about a country vet's life. I really enjoyed this product!

I read these books decades ago and wanted them for my grand daughter. This book is perfect

James Herriot is one of the great story tellers. Each one or two chapters tells a story about the animals and the people in the Yorkshire he loves. My one hour commute flies by, and I eagerly move to the next disc. Christopher Timothy brings the stories to life and gives wonderful voice to all the different characters. I read the books as an adolescent, and the audio of the stories brings me even more into the world James Herriot describes.

These stories are some of my all time favourite to listen to on long car trips. James Harriot's stories are charming, heart- warming and entertaining. The animal components of the stories are perfect for animal lovers, but the human aspects are just as wonderful! They are particularly great for long car trips because they are broken up into shorter stories which can be enjoyed individually in the even that someone in the car takes a nap, but are also woven together as a whole for the driver!

Contains all books from the author’s start of practice till he comes back from the Air Force.Am reading it for the third time or so, just so entertaining and clean fun, sometimes very touching.

All Creatures Great and Small, All Things Bright and Beautiful, and All Things Wise and Wonderfulの3冊分で、35組です。ドラマのOPテーマが最初に流れるので、ドラマの冒頭が思い浮かびます。概ね満足ですが、しかし35枚中3枚でほんの2−3分ですが3−4箇所、再生できない所がありました。全部で30時間はあるのでしょうが無いですかね、うーん。他の朗読CDをやはり海外買っても、そんな経験はありません。箱は破れとかケース割れはありませんが、少し潰れてました。これは海外製のCD、DVDだとよく経験するので、最初から期待していませんでした。他には不満はありません。朗読などの内容は満足しています。

My family enjoys listening to stories together, either on long road trips or at bedtime. I'd just finished reading all of Herriot's books and came across this set. This has been really well put together, from the box to the booklets that store the cd's, to the cd's themselves, it's beautiful. Christopher Timothy has done an excellent job reading these delightful and heartwarming stories. Well worth the price as I'm sure we'll listen to these CD's over and over again.
