Terrible Lifetime
The Philips product listing (for the 12" version) states "This long-lasting bulb shines for up to 12,000 hours." Suspiciously, the listing for 8" version makes no statement whatever, but assuming it is intended to be the same...I installed Philips Circline fluorescent lamps in a closet fixture requiring both an 8" and a 12" lamp - in late August 2022, about 6.5 Months ago. About a month ago, both showed signs of degradation, taking several seconds to turn on, and having visibly lost intensity. Within the next two weeks both failed completely.These lamps are used a maximum of three hours per day (very conservative) - so at 3 * ~ 200 days, that is approximately 600 hours of operation - maximum.12,000 hours is TWENTY times 600, so these delivered all of 5% (max) vs. their rated lifetime.Pathetic longevity and shame on Philips. Philips used to be an excellent name in illumination products, but my experience lately says otherwise.I would strongly recommend avoiding these.

It's a fluorescent ring
It works just like what is indicated. It's fluorescent ring replacement bulb. The color temperature is 3000K so not extremely white or bright.
