Loud enough to get your attention.
I'm very satisfied with this product. It's loud enough and people (pedestrians, other cyclists, car motorists and animals) notice the sound while we (the cyclists) approach. Unfortunately people are not polite to move to the side, or behave safely, sometimes overreacting thinking that we are the owners of the path, but in reality we're thinking on the safety of everyone. So be careful always, but you are definitely NOTICED. This product does it's job very well.Sometimes I need to press the button a little bit more harder than expected. It's operated by two AAA batteries, but an improved version with USB rechargeable battery could be a plus in the future. Is has a bunch of different SOUNDS with two selectable levels and all of them don't let you embarrassed, like silly sounds that are more laughable than useful. I have another similar product and all the SOUNDS are silly and people react if I'm playing Star Wars or something. This product is more serious and more ADULT friendly. Hope in the near future create a video to demonstrate all the sounds.Great addition to your bike when you ride on crowded areas.

Nice loud horn, batteries last long time, cheap mount breaks in less than a year
I like this horn. It is loud as they claim. It's actually so loud that I quickly figured out it's only appropriate to use for cars. I still use the regular bike bell around pedestrians and especially if I see a dog anywhere in the distance ahead since this is too loud for them. That's not a bad thing - loud is what I wanted for the cars. The batteries last for many months, which exceeded expectations. The problem is after 9 months and 1800 miles of riding on my road bike, the mount broke and I had to catch the horn from falling off my handlebar while riding. Fortunately it was slow to fall because it's tethered to the actuator button. Seeing where it broke around the screw holding down the swivel top part of the mount, that doesn't look like a long-lasting design. I like everything else about it. I had a second one for my other bike which now serves as one mount for both. For the price I only dropped it one star. I'd like to just replace the mount but at the low price I'll think about getting another whole unit to replace the mount so I have a mount for each bike again.

Sounds exactly like a smoke alarm, and that is LOUD
Just got this horn, and I must say that it is a game changer with the vehicles I encounter. In a word, I feel SAFER - and I think traffic all around me has become safer too. I am now more an equal to the vehicles I meet-up with in some way. The difference is probably in that I am not counting on these drivers to make the effort to SEE me and adjust their path accordingly to the situation. Instead, now I have a way to make my presence know to them directly to my satisfaction. It is always better for both you and the pedestrian or vehicle to be making efforts together to prevent a collision. The mounting strength of this horn is not great, but the horn is. The button is well designed and can be installed over the rubber handle bar grip in such a way that a single finger can use it at the same time the rest of the hand is using the brake lever. Very safe. I first ordered a Air Zound horn but returned it, as on my bike the actuation button required me to move my hand away from the brake lever to use it. A big concern for me in bicycle braking safety is to always have my hands on the brake levers, and BRAKING is anyone's first line of defense, not to be compromised. I mounted my Kewayo horn on the right side (drive side) near the rear brake lever and the bell that I also use. Along with the index shifters that my bike has (and most bikes have) that area looks congested with devices, but the adjustment capabilities of the Kewayo horn button and my bell are so great that I can adjust their locations to where all these devices can be used safely together. I keep my left brake lever that actuates the front disc brake totally free of any add-on accessories nearby that could obstruct it's use. That front brake does at least 60% of total braking (probably more), and in an emergency situation sometimes all you can do is BRAKE. This set-up allows for this brake first philosophy to continue to be as effecient as it was. As I say, I also have a bell near the horn button. I got it on Amazon too. It is called the Miracle Bell, and it can be mounted and adjusted in such a way that it's location compliments the horn, making the choice on which warning device to use less difficult and more natural while retaining safe use of the brake lever. A bell should still be used for most situations. This combination of warning devices has been mentioned here in other reviews. I have only used this horn for a few days now and honked only a few times. This horn is not for going around honking at people and vehicles in anger. I have not yet decided yet how I should use it for warning pedestrians, but since I live and ride in a downtown big city bike lane I can expect to need to use it there - perhaps at a number of feet well ahead of a developing situation that could become a problem, erring on the side of caution. The idea, once again, is to make my presence known, and it is better for both you and the car or pedestrian to be making efforts to prevent a collision rather than just you.Update: had this now a couple of months. Still using the original batteries it came with. It has held up well, and it will probably last a long time. You need this horn for city riding.

Excellent product does what you need
For XC single-track MTB riding where you may suddenly come apon trail walkers this horn will alert them to your approaching. Many times the walkers have earbuds or headphones and will not hear a bike bell. This horn is sufficient to alert them. It's very loud and the different tone selections give you choices that pierce threw into people's consciousness. This is a big horn, it's rather heavy and may be many grams more than some want on thier bikes. The 'safety-value' of early warning a walker of your rapid approach does - IMO - outweigh the impediment of the extra weight.Racing along near the limit on tight twisty single-track the chance you may slam into a pedestrian wearing headphones is very real and this device just may prevent such a uncomfortable outcome. HAPPY TRAILS!

Great buy
Battery operated. Easy to install and use. Many sound options. Also when pressing and holding down the button, allows for a continuous sound and just just a beep or a honk.
