We actually own two of these now. If you want to put an edge on a blade really quick this will do the trick. It is not a razor-sharp edge but good enough and is a great starting place to really put on a edge. It comes with some good instructions on the back of the package and a template for the mounting holes. It also includes a drill bit for the pilot holes and some mounting screws. I carry a little pocketknife and it is very hard to sharpen because of its size. I just have to pull it thru this sharpener 5-6 time and it's good to go. I would definitely recommend this product and will probably buy one for my shop and a couple for gifts.

This is the best thing that you've ever seen to sharpen your pocket knife.I first saw one attached to the counter at a convience store,pulled out my pocket knife,tried it,its simple,put a really sharp edge on your knife with very little effort.I was stopping at this store just to sharpen my knife on this thing.(well,,I'd buy a drink just so the store owners wouldn't know how "cheap" that I really am,LOL !!)Just ordered four of 'em today.I intend to have a couple of 'em here at the house,and give a couple of 'em to my friends.They are that effective,and afforadable.You can't do it wrong,just put the blade in the "V"notch and draw the blade toward you with only a little pressure on the blade..!!!Simple.If I can do it,anybody can.They call me Jug,and I appprove this message,and,no,I have not been compensated for for this message.But,Accu Sharp,and Amazon,if you'd like to hook me up....I could live with that too..LOL

Puts a sharp tin can briar burr edge on stainless field filet and carbon hoof knives that will definitely cut. Not for fine shaving sharp edges or high grade kitchen knives.

If u try to sharpen a knife that has a belly or a more rounded blade front end you will bottom out on the ledge of the sharpener where the screw is thereby defeating the purpose. They should redesign this sharpener so the V notch is a little higher /taller from the ledge.
