This product is extremely fragile and it is why the slot it is placed in within the Germ Guardian is extremely specific. When you remove this and go to install it, make sure to use gloves so you don’t get oil on the glass of the bulb. Second, when you go to install it, do so with the cord pointing up, not down. Third, pull the cords closest to the end so you can get the shield for the bulb around the cords and secure the lamp safely and intentionally.We got it switched out in about 5 minutes and everything is working as it should! Great product that does exactly what it is supposed to do!

It however worked just fine.Makes me feel fresh knowing it is inside the machine killing the bad stuff.

Replaced the bulb on the AC4100 unit. It was very easy and it works without any issues. The bulb does not come with instructions. Basic instructions are included in the air purifier manual but its very easy. Just take out one screw for the metal cover then unplug the wire and reinstall the bulb.

I had to shift the bulb around quite a bit to make it actually fit in the slot because of a part of the glass tip that extended about half a mm further than the end of the bulb that was originally in there. I was worried about it breaking, but I eventually got it to work.

It didn't have a small safety cover (on the tip of the bulb) that's necessary when you place it in the unit. I had to use the one from the old bulb. Not sure if it was the right thing to do. Also it would be helpful if it had an instruction how to change the bulb.Update to my review: I changed one start to five after I called their help number, and I found out that the bulb doesn't come with that plastic safety cover and it doesn't need one. Per their rep, the original probably comes with it to secure the bulb during shipping and handling.

The media could not be loaded. I ordered two. They fit, but they don’t work. The light never goes on. And the machine just makes an annoying crackling sound like it’s fizzling out. Very frustrating as this is the only option for this bulb on Amazon. I’ll be returning.

I purchased a 2 pack of these bulbs. One was fine but when I went to use the 2nd one, at which point I was past the return window, one of the wires was disconnected from the bulb so not usable at all.
