Good grill top for the Solo Stove Bonfire. After four uses this grill seems to be a good deal. It is sturdy enough to support my large cast iron skillet. I didn’t try cooking directly on the grill surface, only in the skillet.This is a two piece set. There is a support frame and a round grill piece with handles. I like this setup, makes it easy to take the grill off when finished cooking and cleaning is a lot easier than it would be if the support was part of the grill surface. It fits in the solo stove storage bag along with the stove.The grill has three prongs welded to it that go into loops on the support that hold everything steady while cooking. The loop welds are weak points that could potentially fail under the extreme heat that can be created when burning solo stove. I don’t know what temperature would be required to damage the weld points so maybe my concerns are unfounded. I suggest only placing grill on stove once fire has died down and there are nice coals to work with. There is plenty of room to fit small pieces of wood through the support if you need to add more fuel after you start cooking.

Very nice addition to my solo stove. Like another review mentioned when traveling with this it does not nest inside of the solo stove, but I just had enough room in my camper to hang it on a door. Other than that the product works well. Have grilled steaks to veggies and all have come out very well. One word of caution with the height of this grill and on a windy day it will affect the cooking time, it would be nice if it was a bit closer to the top of the grill.

The stand is made from 6ga (5mm, slightly more than 3/16”) stainless steel and sits securely inside the outer lip of the fire pit, over the air deflector ring.The grate is 0.115” (just under 1/8”and 3mm) stainless steel. It has three evenly spaced pins that insert into corresponding loop tabs in the stand. There are two rectangle hoops for lifting the grate off of the stand (if the grate isn’t pinned to the stand it can slide off center and tip, sending food into the fire pit).This is heavier duty than my Weber kettle grill.I haven’t tried it yet because it’s too wet outside to burn the stove. Wet ash corrodes Solo stoves. Which brings me to my next point. I don’t want food grease in the ash either. We are using this on our deck, and here in the Pacific NW it will be difficult to keep the fire pit clean and dry. The bbq is close by.For those using this for camping I think the cooking grate is a good addition. As others have mentioned, the stand does not store inside the fire pit but the grate does, and it will sit on the air deflector ring without the stand.I ordered this before the fire pit arrived, but once I saw the Bonfire I decided against using this. No fault of the grate. Just want to keep the Bonfire clean.The grate is excellent quality and justifies the $54 price tag. Solo would charge $100+ if they were selling it.

This is a great idea but I wonder how long it will last when over a hot fire. My experience with similar over the counter grates is that they weaken and sag when over hot fires.This one may be different and hold up very well. It is a great idea for camping as it does not take up a lot of space, especially if you pack other necessities inside the base. Only time will tell.Great idea, well-constructed and finished.

This is a quality fire pit grill. It is made quite well, and it is very sturdy. It will hold and cook a lot of food. If you have a fire pit of any type, this will be a great addition.It can also work in a improvised fire, either using wood or charcoal, on the ground, with bricks or rock to raise it slightly, or over a slight recess in the ground.So useful! I have bought one before, from the hardware store, but it turned out to be too flimsy. This one is super sturdy.
