Not the most expensive, but it is accurate and can be calibrated. It has leveling feet and it comes with a power cord. It runs on battery power or you can use the power cord and transformer adapter that is included. The leveling feet are easy to adjust. The Electronic Compact Scale SF 400 D features an easily read backlighted display, with a counting function. A handy addition to my kitchen.

Haven't had a chance to see if it weighs out to 500 grams, but so far it has done well and it gives nice steady readings. Also, if there is an automatic shut off it hasn't reared its ugly head. I hate that feature on my other balance.

Overall it's a good scale for applications requiring a moderate degree of precision, like weighing spices, oils, or nutrient media. It's very lightweight, like picking up a calculator, and the buttons require a firm touch. I still think it's a good buy for $30 if you want precision to within a few hundredths of a gram. It can be plugged in or run off 2 AA batteries. The display is bright and the counting function works. The only real drawback for me is the upper weight limit of 600g.
